I would love to see colored jilabiya with contrasting embroidery such as pink with black embroidery, cream with black embroidery, wide sleeves, and feminine colors and designs. But still relatively modest, so that they do not have low necks, see-through material or tight fitting design.

Perfect Jalabiya in my eyes is something like this
The colors are amazing, rich and luxurious. Gold with red burgundy
The dresses itself are soft and flowing and exude a feminine feel.
with butterfly style sleeves..a lot of sheer and beads ..
Another great look is black abaya with hot pink, wide trimming, add ribbons and flowers like orchids..
what I really like its reversible abaya flashy from inside and modest outside..
so I dont have to change or wear tons of clothes on hot summer days when everybody wants their weddings :) so I can just go to the bathroom and reverse my abaya :) to elegant and very eye catching for LADY’s ONLY :)
also great idea for dress would be simple black.. but very elegant, on the front
silk ribbons, that ties the dress and on the tip of the sleeves is silk trim that ties to ribbon..
    Another idea is …
bamboo green Abaya with wide made of white silk..like a belt around the waist that has a chinese inspired neck line and made of Japanese finest silk..

I can go on and on about these abaya’s :) hope you like some of the ideas :)

    salam alaykum

My ideal jilbab is a flowy material, a line design with rhinestone and other beading accents along the wrist and neck area. It should be beautiful, MashaAllah but still comfortable for morrocan style seating or traditional eating at a table. Also it should include a zipper at the neck for nursing sisters as well. The idea is to not have to change out of the jilbab to look beautiful, MashaAllah that can be hectic for sisters with children. Although I prefer black, other modest colors should be included for others taste.

  4. Assalamu Alaikum
I think that though it might be an all female gathering, there still should be modesty worn. We don’t want to show off. So, in my opinion, I think that a great jilbab would be something old fashion. Kind of like a babydoll top and then pleats by the waist, then it would come down long and flowy. It wouldn’t be fancy because old fashioned things aren’t really fancy like now a days. It should be simple. Maybe some trimmings to add an extra look to it.
Insha’Allah I hope that helped! (Helped you AND help me)
Jazakallahu Kairan for giving us a chance to win this!!

    Assalamu Alaikum!

  5. Assalaamu Aleykum Sisters,

I do like Jalabiyas but they are not what I generally wear to women only gatherings. Depending on how formal the situation, I personally prefer long dresses ( with long sleeves or boleros to cover my arms) or long skirts with a cute top. I still keep my clothes modest, and how fancy the clothes themselves are, depends on the situation.
For a wedding, I think a full length chiffon dress with embroidery or a print design is perfect. And for Eid or just any occasion ladies gathering a long skirt with a beautiful Tunic/ Kurta.

If you are thinking to expand the line of items you offer on the site, I personally think that finding long dresses, that are modestly cut, and are not halter tops or with a very low neckline are very hard to find. Even harder is finding any long enough for me, since I am 5’9 and hate to show my legs, even just around ladies. All the muslim ladies I know love maxi dresses and are always on the hunt for them, so maybe you can offer long dresses with varying degrees of fancyness. Everything from a long comfortable jersey cotton t-shirt dress, to a silk embroidered one.
I live in the States, and here I havent really seen women wearing jalabeyas to womens gathering, parties or events. I have seen a few at wedding, but not that many. Mostly Ive seen women with maxi skirts and dresses, and embellished tunic tops.
Wow, that was a ramble :)
I love that you sisters keep communication with your customers open! Keep up the great work!

    Jazak allah khair
    Masalaama,
    Jana

  6. As-salaamu alaykum,

I like to wear Pakistani-style shalwar khamees, but not the ones you typically see nowadays which have see-through fabrics, bright colors, immodest deep necklines, and too much shiny decorations, or ones that cannot be washed in the laundry.

I like simple embroidery designs (machine made or hand made), non-bright colors like nayy blue, light purple, reddish-purple, green, or light yellow. I like modest necklines and non-see-through fabrics that don’t make you feel too hot. Just simple everyday clothing that is machine washable.

  7. As sallamu alaikym for me I would wear the beautiful abaya that are areadily sold on your website but besides that I would like to see an lightweight a-line abaya or jalabiya with matching shayla, soft and comfortable with nice embriory, trimming and designs to contrast the color of the abaya or jalabiya.I would like to see dark colors such as burgundy, black, blue, green (different colors )because even though it’s women only still wouldn’t want to be to flashy.and they should be designed to accomadiate nursing mothers.
    Jazak Allah khair
    As sallamu alaikym

  8. As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuh
Alhamdulillah I love this site. For purchasing garment with style and modesty
When going to wedding or eids I think we want to look beautful at the safe time be
Modest and not extravagent. Some ideas woud be making butterfly abayas in a variety of
Colors and designs consisting of gems and stones . I think that would be beautiful
I would also like to see more house dresses butterfly style for in the home or even at parties
With Splashes of green, pink, blue, orange, white, amber, gold To give the elegent but modest flava.
Asia inspired kimono but longer in length would be beautiful even wearing under an open
Abaya. JazakAllahu khair may these ideas be of benifit and mayAllah bless
You all with much sucess ameen take care and I look forward to doing business
Many more times inshaAllah ukhti sakinah

  9. As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

When going to weddings or Eid celebrations I would wear something simple yet elegant. Definitely pastel colors with embroidery that is about a shade darker than the garment. Also I would dress it up with a pretty and coordinating underscarf with a few rhinestones. It wouldn’t be extravagant..simple is best. When you dress with simple colors you can always dress it up and it won’t look too flashy. I would like to see soft color , slighty bolder embroidery, accessories to match…hijab pins..etc.

  10. Assalamu alaykum,
My idea of a perfect garment for eid is something elegant but not over the top (like some designs can be these days). You have the idea with the henna inspired butterfly abaya and the silver designed bist abaya. These are my idea of something beautiful, not extragant, and yet stylish enough to be for eid or a wedding. Eid is more of a day of celebration where you really want that hint of colour here and there. Royal colours are a grand idea! Using these colours in patterns on the abaya (ie. sleeve and hem as these is what is seen) in a modest manner is great.

For a woman’s only waleemah what is best is a dress definately. But I don’t like the designs which fall from under the chest because these designs more enhance the chest area, which I feel is not relaly that modest enough even for a woman’s only gathering. A dress that is cut high up on the chest so it completely covers it is best and is very loose with stylish patterns and designs. Hints of colours like gold and blood red and vivid purple would be nice. These dresses though would not be suitable in black, they would be best have a base colour to any design. Even simple dresses like this of one colour, like pastel colours, are sweet too and can be very versitile for home and for a party.

inshAllah you can maybe produce something like this (especially some type of house dress that is very modest like your jilbabs/abayas) to sell. I already love your abayas and can’t stop mentioning it to my friends. Jazakallah khayran for what you already offer, may Allah reward you immensely for keeping the Ummah modest and being able to fulfill the obligations to Allah.

    Ma-assalam,
    sister Nova.

  11. assalamu aleikum
I think some nice and colorful Kaftans would be nice in chiffon fabric with many layers ,flowing nicely.
May be also Silk Kaftans .Something thin that can be worn under normal Jilbab or abaya .
MAny Kftans look too ethinic ,I think it would be nice to make some Kaftans that look elegant and modern .

  12. Asalaamuaalykum warahamt allhe wabaraktuhu
when going to only women gatherings i wear indian/pakistani suits such as shalwar kameez. i find this type of wear to be the most modest as it can be stylish and modest at the same time, since it covers all that is needed to be covered infront of other women. I would love fancy abayahs and jilbabs with mix of modern style yet modest and covering, colourfull yet simple desings such as hand work or beading.
    i hope this helps
    barakaalhufeekuna.

  13. Maxi dresses or long flowy skirts are my favorite at all women’s gatherings. Sometimes jeans and a dressy blouse will do it, too. Plus accessories.

And yes, it would be lovely to see some dresses that take modesty into account. Fashionable and feminine, without showing too much skin, even in front of other women. Any and all colors. Some solids, some patterns, a few designs with embroidery or beading.

  14. i think fancy clothes are a waste of money. the clothing should be something that could be worn on other occasions not just parties. should have different styles of clothing (dresses, full lenth skirts and shalwar kameez). material should be cool and comfy. some designs & prints would nice but too heavy on the designs and prints. lighter colors for summer months would be nice.

  15. salamalaikum,
I also usually wear pakistani clothing to weddings and other parties where there is only women present but this is only because I can’t find anything else that I like. I would like to see traditional-looking flowy jalabiyas in colors with nice embroidery and detailing – something like an abaya but just colored and fancy inshAllah.
