For me my abaya needs to have modest style meaning black with dark trim or black or dark color design nothing light, bright, and crazy.I prefer my abaya to have openings in the front with strong strudy snaps since I am a nursng mom.And strong strudy snaps because I’ve had abayas with snaps that don’t stay closed because they were very cheap and Velcro loses quailty after awhile. And my fabric I like it to be soft and lightweight and comfortable creep.

  2. As-Salaamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh

For me, an abaya must be free-flowing and opaque (not transparent or translucent; not allowing light to pass through). I have some that are front closed, shoulder closed, and fully closed but my favorite are the fully closed with a few snaps or zippers over the chest area, like the Bisht and Butterfly Abayas here at Sunnah Style, and the Overhead Abayas due to the complete coverage from head to toe. Black, Brown and Olive Green are my favorite colors and I like the Kuwaiti crepe fabric….. it feels so soft and looks so elegant. Attention to detail is important…… in the seams, hem, and modest designs on the abaya as it lends to the overall drape of the garment. I love the abayas (and accessories) at Sunnah Style because they offer me all of the things that I like in my abaya (and wardrobe), and when I wear it I am pleased to take that last look in the mirror before I exit and see that I am fully covered which is pleasing to my Lord Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.

    BarakAllaahu Feeki

  3. for me…always worn from shoulders always black , dont like velcro- itches and loses it’s fastenablity after a while. Generally choose an ankle hitting 54 generally choose coat style MUST have decoration and the decoration must be unique-love strong colour dont mind matching colour but HATE demure

  4. Asalaamu Alaikum

I don’t often wear abayas but whatever I wear it must be baby friendly. Its really hard to find islamic clothes with buttons or zippers for some reason.

  5. assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah

First of all I want to say jazakallah for providing us with your beautiful offering of Islamic clothing! For me, my abaya first of all needs to be biiiiig. I mean biiiiig. I like the abaya to fit very loose. It also needs to be long enough which is sometimes hard for me to find cause I take a 62 or 64 and I hate when the abaya is to my ankles. The other important thing is that it can stand up to being washed and worn and take a beating because I dont like my abayas to fall apart in the wash. So sizing and strength – thats what is important for me. Shukran.

  6. As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuhu

As for me mines must be , must be flowing with plenty of room where as you can not see my shape at all, also thick as in color where as you can not see anything through the material, and long in length.
Lastly, wash friendly and never snaps I must have a pull over, dark in colors, masha Allaah. My favorites are the bisht that you offer here and overhead abayas, insha Allaah ta aala.
    Barakallaahu Feek !

  7. As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

    All I need for my hijaab is;
    1. for it to be roomy
    2. non-trasnparent
    3. not tight
    4. it cannot resemble the dress of the men or the disbelievers
    5. for it to be neat and clean
    6. good craftmanship so that it may last me
    7. pleasing to Allaah.

  8. Assalamu Alaikum warhamatullahi wabarakatuhu

(I entered this giveaway before, please don’t mark me as spam!)

For me I prefer simple abayahs with not too much decoration or bright colours or large flowy sleeves. I also like abayahs that don’t wrinkle too easily.

  9. I am like sister Aishah…the #1 thing I look for in my abayas is baby-friendly. I hate having to struggle with clothing when trying to feed so zippers or snaps at the neck that provide ample room is a must. Barakallahu feekum.

  10. as salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

I personally can’t stand open abayas so my abaya has to be closed. With open abayas I have to worry about what I’m wearing underneath whether it will show through the snaps and be too flashy. Even though I like other dark colors like navy blue and brown and green, I usually only buy black, lol. I like very simple embroidery designs on my abaya and I love the different styles you offer because it gives us muslimahs a nice variety, mashallah. Jazakallah khayr.

  11. Assalamu ALaikum
Im very simple with my needs for an abay. As long as its long enough and doesnt rip when its dragging then Im good. So that would be material that didnt rip easily and is crinkle free. Theres nothing worse than an abaya thats hard to iron so that would be a factor too. I do wish you had some thicker style hijaabs for the cold winter. Like maybe denim style if that was possible.

  12. Asalaamu alaikum,

    My favorite abayas:

1- Do not need to be ironed.
2- Are made from quality light weight fabric.
3- Have no sequins or flashy designs.
4- Open at the top for nursing.

    Jezak Allah Khair.

  13. Asalaamu Alaikum
